MINUTES

  2. Approval of April 23, 2003 minutes.
  3. Approval of Treasurer's Report
    1. Payment of Timing System bill for District Track Meet
  4. Approval of Tussey Mountain to compete in District 6 Junior High Track meet.
  5. paper hearing held on Turkeyfoot Valley Junior High Basketball violation of a 6th grade student playing in a game.  The committee will accept the internal investigation of the superintendent.  He is to submit all actions being taken.  The committee will require written documentation for future review.
  6. A letter was received from Lewistown High School concerning parochial school domination in state basketball playoffs.  A review committee of the State Board of Directors is studying the situation.
  7. The committee received a survey complied by Jeff Batzel, Northern Bedford Athletic Director, on the set up of the District 5 Basketball playoffs.  The major results include:
    1. A minimum of 8 qualifiers in Class A and 5 in Class AA regardless of record.
    2. Any school having a .500 record or over can enter the playoffs
    3. Record to include regular season games only.  No tournaments.
    4. Virgil Palumbo and Larry Palmer will set up a playoff structure to be acted on in the summer workshop
  8. Terry Diehl submitted a wrestling survey.  No playoff changes were recommended.
  9. The summer workshop meeting is changed to June 12, 10:00 a.m. at the Arena
  10. The cutoff date for baseball and softball was extended to Tuesday, May 20.  All efforts must be made to play all necessary games.
