MINUTES

  1. Meeting convened at 4:55 p.m.
  2. Approval of January 21, 2004 minutes.
  3. Approval of Treasurer's report.
  4. No bills were payable.
  5. Correspondence
    1. Track coaches asked to have district event standards sent out early in the season. This will be done.
    2. open playoffs were discussed in basketball. There was no interest in doing. This would probably need to be done in all sports.
    3. Ron Beachley has been reelected to a new two year term as official's rep.
  6. Old Business
    1. Football playoffs were discussed for 2004-05 school year. The PIAA Executive staff is proposing a change from 4 to 8 schools required for a district to conduct their own district tournament. The committee advised our three votes on the Board of Directors to vote to remain at the present brackets using 4 schools to have own district playoffs.
  7. New Business
    1. PIAA brackets were discussed for the 2004-05 school year. The PIAA Executive staff is proposing a change from 4 to 8 schools required for a district to conduct their own district tournament. The committee advised our three votes on the Board of Directors to vote to remain at the present brackets using 4 schools to have own district playoffs.
    2. We need an organizational chart for District 5. Mr. Palumbo will form a chart.
    3. There will be no boys/girls team golf championships for the 2004-06 cycle.
  8. Reports were heard from several sport chairmen. Great Cove, McConnellsburg, will host the 2004 District Golf tournament.
