Just got back from New York City where Brian Sell, a former District 5 Wrestling
and 1600 Meter Track Champion, from Northern Bedford qualified for the 2008 US
Olympic Squad with a third place finish in the Men's Marathon Trials.
The first picture on the link below is Brian at the 21 mile mark where he made his move from 7th to
third, then some pictures of Northern Bedford fans who were there supporting him
(including one of my son) and, to me, the most compelling pictures were the
three of his parents as he passed us with 300 meters to go and they were
overcome with emotion as they realized there son had realized the dream. Brian's
dad, by the way, is former D5 committee member Bob Sell's brother. Bob was there
today! watching his nephew qualify.
