2023 State PIAA AA Swimming Champion in the 100 Backstroke and the 200 Backstroke. For the second year she has been was named Swimmer of the Meet by the Pennsylvania High School Swimming Coaches Association (PHSSCA). She has broken state records in both events again and has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 100 Backstroke and the 200 Backstroke.

Everett High PIAA 2A State Champions
Bedford's Leah Shackley, a sophomore, won the 100 Butterfly and the 100 Backstroke at the PIAA Class AA Swimming and Diving Championships at Bucknell University on March 18-19,2022. She is the first Bedford County female athlete to win a PIAA state championship. She set a new state record in the 100 backstroke in the preliminaries and broke it again by over a second in the final. She was named Swimmer of the Meet by the Pennsylvania High School Swimming Coaches Association (PHSSCA).
